Coronavirus (COVID-19) Awareness and Preparedness
We continue to offer our beautiful B&B for lodging as usual, and the health and safety of our guests is of utmost priority at Cedar Lane Bed and Breakfast. We are closely monitoring the situation around COVID-19, including guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and the Kansas Department of Health. Out of concern for our guests and our community, be assured we’re doing all we can to protect your health and well-being during your stay.
While considering traveling to the NE Kansas area, consider our intimate B&B rather than staying in a hotel, to better cooperate with social distancing. We’re striving to provide a safe, peaceful place to rest during these stressful times. We continue to provide a very clean and comfortable atmosphere for guests by taking extra measures to disinfect all surfaces in common spaces at our B&B.
If guests desire, we’re offering a continental breakfast delivered to the room until social distancing restrictions are lifted. If guests wish to have a full breakfast in the dining areas, we’re offering this option as well. Also in keeping with CDC guidelines on social distancing, we’re refraining from handshakes as we greet our guests and see them off.
If anyone is ill or has recently traveled to areas experiencing widespread transmission of COVID-19, please plan to visit Cedar Lane Bed and Breakfast another time.

ACCESSIBILITY: – At this time, we do not have wheelchair accessibility. The Lexington Suite is equipped with hand bars by the toilet area and in the shower.
NO SMOKING: Cedar Lane Bed and Breakfast is 100% smoke free. Violation of this policy will result in a $250.00 professional restoration fee charged to your credit card.
NO PETS: Our home will remain pet free for the care of our guests who may have allergies.
NO CHILDREN: No children under the age of 12. Our goal is to provide a quiet, peaceful time in our home for all guests. While I am certain most younger children are not as loud as others (we have grandchildren too), it is simply a rule we wish to adhere to, to maintain the highest level of tranquility as possible.
PARKING: We offer plenty of off the road parking on our spacious driveway.
RESERVATIONS: To guarantee your reservation, a deposit of 50 percent is required for a stay of two or more nights, except for the months of May and June, when a 100 percent deposit is required. A 100 percent deposit is also required for one-night stays. The balance due at checkout may be paid by cash or credit card.
CANCELLATIONS: We require a 14 day advance (21 days during the month of May and 28 days when reserving tall three rooms) by telephone. With at least 14 (21) days’s notice, we will refund your deposit, less a service charge of 10 percent of your total reservation. Cancellations made within the 14-day (21-day) period will be charged for the full amount of the reserved stay unless we are able to rebook the room. If we are able to rebook the room, we will refund the rebooked portion, less the 10 percent service charge. We are a small B&B, and cancellations affect us dramatically.
HOUSEKEEPING: If you are staying more than one evening and wish to have your bed made or need fresh towels or any other supplies please inform us, otherwise we will not service your room.
ITEMS IN THE ROOMS/HOUSE: Bath towels, hand towels and washcloths are furnished for each guest. If anything is missing when you arrive please inform us immediately. If anything is missing upon your departure we will assume you like it and are willing to pay for it. We will give you a courtesy call before charging you. We request for makeup removal, that guests utilize the colored washcloths supplied in each bath rather than the white wash cloths.
ROOM OCCUPANCY: Each room is designed for occupancy by two people. If the occupants in your room exceed this number there will be an added charge of $25.00.
CHECK-IN: Check-in is generally between 4:00-6:00 p.m. Please call in advance if you are unable to make your scheduled check-in time or need to schedule a different arrival time due to travel arrangements. We are flexible but we would appreciate your cooperation as we are a very small inn and don’t have a large housekeeping staff to prepare our rooms on short notice.
CHECK-OUT: Check-out is 11:00-noon. We reserve the right to charge your card for a half day if you are not able to check out until after noon or for a full day if you are unable to depart until after 2:00 p.m.
KEYS: Room keys that are not returned will be result in a $15.00 charge.
BREAKFAST: Breakfast is the only meal served and is included in the room price. We will make every effort to honor dietary restrictions however we do need advance notice. Please advise us when you make your reservations. Be aware, there is no discount for not eating breakfast. Also, if you wish to bring additional guests to breakfast you must notify us in advance. There will be an $8.00 charge for each visitor who is not staying at Cedar Lane Bed and Breakfast.
WIRELESS INTERNET AND TECHNOLOGY: Wireless Internet Access is complementary throughout Cedar Lane Bed and Breakfast. Please refrain from large downloads and streaming as a courtesy to your fellow guests and the business functions of the Inn. We are not responsible for service outages provider maintenance, weather conditions or incompatibility with your electronic devices. Also be considerate of other guests (and the owners) when you use your cell phones or other devices.
SPECIAL OCCASIONS: For an additional charge, we would be happy to arrange for flowers, candy or other romantic extras to be placed in your room for that special occasion.
GIFT CERTIFICATES: Gift Certificates are non-refundable; not redeemable for cash; not transferable; and are subject to availability. Gift Certificates will expire two years from the date of purchase.
REGISTERED GUESTS: – You will be asked to provide a photo ID at check-in. Guests rooms cannot be transferred to another party without advance notification and approval.
In order to assure privacy and a relaxing atmosphere for our guests, Cedar Lane is closed to people who do not have a room. Cedar Lane and its property are for the use of registered guests only. As previously mentioned, non-registered guests may join guests for breakfast with advance reservations.
Please remember that this is a family home and we reserve the right to refuse service to anyone.
